Sunday Lecture Series–Batter Up! A 70-year Mexican-American Softball Tradition

What’s better on a hot summer day than to spend it at the ballpark, hot dog in hand? 2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the Newton Mexican American Athletic Club’s annual men’s fastpitch softball tournament, the longest running such tournament in the U.S.

Raymond Olais will present on the history of the tournament and share what makes this Newton tradition so unique.

This lecture is a part of the ongoing Sunday Lecture Series held monthly on the third Sunday at 2pm.

Presentation is open to the public.  $5 admission.  Free admission for HCHM members.
