The 2nd Annual Hide Park Showdown will take place August 19, 2023 at the Harvey County Historical Museum & Archives, 203 N. Main, Newton, Ks.
Event includes a reenactment of the August 20, 1871 shootout in Perry Tuttle’s Saloon in Hide Park, Newton. Eight men were shot, 5 men died, the shooter was never caught.
The Hide Park Showdown is a fundraiser for the Harvey County Historical Museum & Archives, Newton, admission is by donation. The reenactment starts at 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Other activities include a chance to play faro and the 2nd annual water gun showdown. Food and drink will also be available on the museum grounds.
